Operational Database Administrator

SUMMARY: As a member of the core team charged with successfully implementing the integrated electronic medical record (Epic), the Operational Database Administrator creates, installs and administers operational database environments. Primary responsibilities will include environment setup, upgrade, updates, configuration, proactive monitoring, resolving complex issues, capacity planning and maintenance. Support will require strong Unix skills, RDBMS platforms proficiency, working knowledge of SQL Server, understanding of operating system concepts and programming background. Competent to work on most phases of database management, applications/systems analysis and programming activities. This position will execute many of the same activities as the less-experienced database administrator, but in addition, will typically lead, co-ordinate, work on more complex, larger and higher importance/impact projects. Regularly provides guidance and training to less-experienced database administrator. Will be required to attend training and become an Epic certified professional. This is a permanent position that will be dedicated to ongoing support of Epic post implementation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: College Degree - 4 year related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required. EPIC Certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer into position required. Minimum two (2) years related work experience.
