    Community Medical Centers has been providing central California with the highest level of care available in the region. Community Regional Medical Center measures up with top hospitals nationally and is the 3rd largest in California! With 685 beds, we are home to the only comprehensive Burn and Level I Trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento. The 56,000 square-foot emergency department is one of the largest and busiest in California! We have an 84-bed Level III NICU and plan to significantly expand pediatric specialty care. Our hospital serves 2.5 million people within 9 counties, averaging a daily census of 641 patients. We're affiliated with UCSF as a teaching facility; trained 3,000 Medical Doctor's to date plus continuous invests in research and training grants.

    Responsibilities

    The Nuclear Medicine Technologist 3, functions as an advanced Scientific Technologist (Chemistry) must be able to instruct Nuclear Med Tech technique to other Technologists and must be proficient in Nuclear Med interventions. Works closely with the Nuclear Medicine Physician while performing the full spectrum of diagnostic imaging, analyzing biological specimens, assisting with therapeutic and diagnostic procedures including, preparing radiopharmaceuticals, administering them to patients, and using imaging devices to record the distribution within a patient’s body. Responsible for patient safety protocols, maintaining all federal, state, local and regulatory agency requirements and participates in CQI activities.

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
    MINIMUM REQUIRED: Graduate from an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or Associates degree in related field. Five years of post-program graduate experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

    PREFERRED: Bachelor of Science in related field.

    DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
    NUMBER OF REQUIREMENTS: SIR Spheres advanced Nuclear Medicine Therapy may be substituted in lieu of PET or NCT certification, or in addition to required certs.


    LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
    MINIMUM REQUIRED: Current BLS certification.
    California State Department of Health Services’ certificate as "Certified Technologist, Nuclear Medicine" all scopes including venipuncture.
    Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Nuclear Medicine Technology (N).

    AND

    One of the following post-primary advanced certifications:

    Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Radiation Safety NMTCB(RS).

    Computed Technology Technologist (CT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, (NMTCB CT).

    Certified Technologist (CT), American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Computed Tomography, ARRT (CT).

    Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Technologist, Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, (NMTCB PET).

    Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NCT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, (NMTCB NCT).
