    Responsibilities

    The Mammography Technologist 2 must be fully trained and self-reliant with routine Mammography Techniques. They are required to enhance the department and service line by providing optimal breast exams and procedures. They should be able to instruct entry level Mammography Technologists in proper mammography positioning, assessment in pertinent clinical history and advanced mammography techniques that may include, but is not limited to breast ultrasound, proper QA/QC, documentation and breast procedures. Obtain pertinent patient history, describe the procedure and answer all patient questions prior to performing the study. Accomplish computer processing and image enhancement. Provide images, data analysis and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation. Precisely follow protocols and physician instruction to create optimal study. Monitor the patient's physical condition during the course of the procedure. Note any specific patient comments that might indicate the need for additional images or that might be useful to the physician in interpreting the results of the procedure.

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
    MINIMUM REQUIRED: Graduate of an ARRT approved school of radiologic technology. Two (2) years of experience working as a Mammography Technologist. Must be fully trained in diagnostic.


    LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
    MINIMUM REQUIRED: Current BLS certificate.
    California Department of Public Health, Radiologic Health Branch (CDPH-RHB) certificate as Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) and CRT-Mammography (CRT(M)).
    American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography (ARRT(R)) and ARRT-Mammography (ARRT(M)).
